Jeffrey Malone

Director of Bands and Orchestras

Jeffrey Malone is the Director of Bands at Mountain Ridge High School in the Deer Valley Unified School District. In this capacity, he directs the Pride of the West Marching Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, and Jazz Band. Under his direction, the Pride of the West was recognized as the 2024 and 2025 ABODA Division I State Marching Band Champions. The MRHS Band Program was also the recipient of the William E. Richardson Program of Distinction Award, presented through the Arizona Band and Orchestra Directors Association (ABODA), for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years.

Prior to this appointment, Mr. Malone served as the Director of Bands and Arts Department Chair at Peoria High School in the Peoria Unified School District. At Peoria High School, he directed the Panther Pride Marching Band, Panther Jazz Band, and Peoria High School Wind Ensemble. Under his direction, the Panther Band Program performed in the 2022 National Memorial Day Parade and as a featured ensemble at the 2024 Arizona Music Educators Association Conference. They were also two-time recipients of the William E. Richardson Program of Distinction Award, earning this distinction for the 2021-2022 and 2023-2024 school years.

Beyond his service at Mountain Ridge and Peoria High School, Mr. Malone is active in his leadership across the state of Arizona. He has previously served as the Region Co-Chair for the AMEA Central Region Honor Band, PUSD High School Honor Band Coordinator, and was a member of the PUSD Arts Advisory Committee. Currently, he serves as the ABODA Vice President of Jazz Activities and is a member of the teaching faculty for the Arizona Leadership Conference.

Jeffrey Malone holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Arizona and a Master of Music in Music Education through Central Washington University and the American Band College. He resides in Glendale, Arizona, with his wife, Abby Malone.
