Chamber Ensembles

Chamber ensembles are a hallmark and cornerstone of the Mountain Ridge Band & Orchestra Program. These ensembles provide student musicians with unique opportunities to receive individualized and small group instruction and perform in more intimate and pedagogically relevant performance settings.

While performing in a chamber ensemble, students are instructed and conducted by specialized instrument coaches. Chamber ensembles allow students to play and respond to their peers, work collaboratively towards a common goal, listen critically to one another, and respond to non-verbal cues during performances.

Furthermore, chamber ensembles perform at the AMEA Solo & Ensemble Festival and have the opportunity to participate in other festivals and competitions, including the Coltman Chamber Music Competition (Austin, TX), the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition (South Bend, IN), and the Midwest Clinic (Chicago, IL). All ensembles meet once a week, after school, throughout the school year.
