Salvador Rodríguez is the Director of Bands at Mountain Ridge High School in the Deer Valley Unified School District. In this capacity, he directs the Pride of the West Marching Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, and Percussion Ensemble. Since 2020, Mr. Rodriguez has been involved with the Pride of the West in various capacities and was recognized in 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 as the ABODA Division I State Marching Band Champions.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Rodriguez served as Director of Bands at Isaac Middle School and District Band Lead in the Isaac Elementary School District. While at Isaac, he directed the Honors Band, Symphonic Band, and Beginning Band classes. Under his direction, the Isaac Honors Band performed at the 2024 AMEA In-Service Conference, was the recipient of Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation Instrument Grant in 2022, and was the recipient of the NAMM Support Music Merit Award in 2022-2025. On behalf of the program, Mr. Rodríguez received the Dr. William P. Foster Community Development Award for the 2023-2024 school year.
Beyond his service at Mountain Ridge High School and Isaac Middle School, Mr. Rodriguez is active in his leadership across the state of Arizona. He has previously served as the AMEA 7th Grade All-State Band Chair. Currently, he serves as the ABODA Vice President for Elementary & Junior High Band Activities.
Mr. Rodríguez holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from DePauw University (IN) and is currently pursuing a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from American College of Education (IN). He enjoys motivating young musicians to reach the highest level of performance by sharing his passion with them every day. He feels privileged and blessed to have a supportive family, many great mentors, band directors, and close friends who have influenced his career thus far.
